Unified Platform

This update delivers a more unified and streamlined experience across CloudSoda's Data Intelligence and Data Orchestration modules, focusing on seamless operation, simplified management, and consistent user interaction.

Data Intelligence (formerly DataIntell) provides comprehensive visibility into your unstructured data landscape by indexing and analyzing data across on-premises and cloud storage systems. It offers advanced search capabilities, cost analytics, usage insights, and data classification to help organizations understand what data they have, where it's stored, and how it's being used.

Data Orchestration (formerly the original CloudSoda application) enables secure and efficient data movement, copying, and synchronization across edge, core, and cloud environments. It provides policy-driven automation, cost transparency through Dry Run modelling, and seamless anywhere-to-anywhere data transfers while maintaining native file formats.

This unified platform brings together these previously separate solutions into one cohesive experience, eliminating the complexity of managing multiple systems while providing the full spectrum of unstructured data management capabilities.

• Centralized User Management: User management is now unified across both CloudSoda modules.

• Integrated Storage Management: Storage management is now unified, offering a consolidated view.
• Simplified Price Books: A new, unified price book concept has been implemented for both modules.

Streamlined Deployment and Upgrades: A unified deployment and upgrade process allows for a single installation of both modules, simplifying platform management.

New Transfer UI Enhancements

We’ve redesigned the transfer interface to make it easier to configure file and folder transfers between source and target systems.

Key updates include:

• A more intuitive layout for setting up quick and policy-based transfers.
• A new preview mode that shows real-time transfer details and estimated cost before you launch the job. This replaces the old live dry run.
• The dry run is now asynchronous and appears as a job in the Jobs section.
• The job details view has also been updated to match the new transfer and policy pages for consistency.

New AI Data Assistant (Alpha)

CloudSoda introduces the AI Data Assistant, a powerful new capability that enables natural language interaction with your unstructured data through ChatGPT integration. This alpha feature allows users to query their CloudSoda data using conversational prompts, making data insights more accessible to both technical and non-technical users.

• Natural Language Queries: Ask questions about your storage and receive intelligent, contextual responses
• Real-time Data Access: Get instant insights from your CloudSoda platform without navigating through multiple interfaces
• Comprehensive Analytics: Access detailed information about storage usage, costs, duplication, and performance metrics

Available Functions:

• Storage Access Metrics: Retrieve access patterns and age distribution for files and folders across your storage systems
• Cost Analysis: Get detailed monthly cost breakdowns for individual storages and aggregate expenses
• Duplication Insights: Identify duplicate files, their sizes, counts, and associated cost impacts
• Usage Statistics: Access capacity, used space, available space, and file count information
• Agent Management: List and review all agents in your system with their status and location details
• Storage Overview: Get comprehensive lists of all storage systems with optional provider filtering
• Cost Simulation: Calculate estimated monthly costs for storing specific data volumes across storage systems

Alpha Requirements:

• Requires CloudSoda support assistance to configure the AI Data Assistant integration with ChatGPT
• Compatible with paid ChatGPT licenses
• Available for customers running CloudSoda 25.6 or later

Application URL Structure

We changed the application URL structure from customer.service.cloudsoda.io to service.customer.cloudsoda.io format.

Performance & Security Enhancements

• Multiple security enhancements have been implemented to improve overall security of the platform.
• Multiple enhancements have been implemented to improve memory usage and overall performance.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue that caused scanning failures on storage paths with long folder names.
• Resolved a monitoring bug in the Data Intelligence job section when scanning storage systems.
• Addressed a timeout issue with reports taking more than one hour to complete.
• Users now receive a clear error message when attempting to delete a storage currently being scanned.
• Fixed a bug that prevented updates to policy schedules from being saved correctly.
