Deployment Guide (Server)

A CloudSoda deployment consists of the CloudSoda Controller and CloudSoda agents. The CloudSoda Controller is the Web Portal and APIs that users interact with directly, while the agents are external application clients that interact with the data storage. The CloudSoda Controller can be deployed in your environment (CloudSoda Server) or ours (CloudSoda SaaS). The specs for the CloudSoda Controller can be found in the CloudSoda Reference Architecture Guide. For instructions on setting up and configuring the SaaS Controller please see Deployment Guide (SaaS). 

Server: CloudSoda Controller Deployment Process

Prerequisites:
A. Review the CloudSoda Security White Paper, specifically the “Data Movement” and “Communication” sections to ensure the appropriate network ports are open. Outbound ports UDP 7498/7499 are required to be open to allow the CloudSoda Agents to connect to the CloudSoda Controller.
B. Review the CloudSoda Reference Architecture Guide and ensure the host(s) for the CloudSoda Agent(s) and CloudSoda Controller are available for configuration.

Step #1: CloudSoda will send you a Welcome Email to start the deployment process.

Step #2: Go to the support portal and create an account
Step #3: Provision a VM or server with the recommended configuration and OS
Step #4: Download the pre-install script here
Step #5: Make the script executable 'chmod +x ./pre-install.sh'
Step #6: Run the script './pre-install.sh'
Step #7: Check the output.  Look for 'All checks passed successfully.'  If not please email support@cloudsoda.io.
Step #8: Click the CloudSoda form link in the email to start the deployment process.

Step #9: Once the form is submitted the CloudSoda team will email you a script to run on your server which deploys the CloudSoda Controller.
Step #10: Run the script as root or using sudo

Step #11: The CloudSoda team will email you a login URL, username, and password to log in to your CloudSoda Controller.
