Policies enable you to configure a scheduled data transfer (copy, move, or sync) from a data source to a target, including any file handling rules that have been defined for the transfer.

Click Orchestration > Policies in the left-hand navigation panel.
The Policies page displays.
- Click Create Policy at the top-right of the page.
The New Policy page displays.
- Enter a name for the new Policy in the Add a name…field.
- Configure the new Policy. Many Policy configuration options (defining rules, conflicts, failures, and tracking) are the same as in Create a Quick Transfer. Complete the following procedures and then continue with Step 4.
- Configure the Policy schedule. Click the Schedule option and select a schedule type:
- Calendar (go to Step 6 to configure)

Cron (go to Step 7 to configure)
- Use the Calendar option to schedule a date and time to run the Policy.
- Click the Calendar option.
- In the Deploy At field, select the date and time to run the policy.
- In the Repeat field, select a regular interval to re-run the policy (Daily, Hourly or Weekly).
- Use the Cron option to schedule a cron job to run the Policy. Defining a cron job enables more fine-grained control over the Policy schedule compared to the Calendar option.
- Click the Cron option.
- Click Add a Cron Expression.
The Cron Expression wizard displays the sub-expression fields that define the Policy schedule. The cron expression can be entered directly or by using the wizard to define each sub-expression.- To define the cron expression directly, click the black down arrow and enter the cron expression in the cron field. To define the cron expression using the wizard, click the down arrow in each field to display available options and select a sub-expression. When all of the sub-expressions are defined, click the black down arrow to display the full cron expression. If you want to change any sub-expressions, click Clear to reset the entries and repeat this step.
- When the cron expression is fully defined, click Save.
- To define the cron expression directly, click the black down arrow and enter the cron expression in the cron field. To define the cron expression using the wizard, click the down arrow in each field to display available options and select a sub-expression. When all of the sub-expressions are defined, click the black down arrow to display the full cron expression. If you want to change any sub-expressions, click Clear to reset the entries and repeat this step.
- When you have fully configured the Policy, click Dry Run to test it.
A preview of the Policy results displays. For complete information, refer to Quick Transfer Dry Run.
- When you are satisfied with the Dry Run results, click Deploy.
The Deploy Policy window displays.
Once the Deploy Policy window closes, your new Policy will be active. You are returned to the main Policy page, where a card for the new Policy will be displayed.
