Price Books in CloudSoda enable you to estimate data transfer and storage costs in real-time, providing critical data needed to make informed decisions about data storage. You can choose from default Price Books provided by major cloud providers or create custom ones aligned to your specific storage requirements.
Default Price Books
CloudSoda includes default Price Books for:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud
Default Price Books provide cost modeling for their respective cloud storage environments. They require no setup and the price book is automatically associated with the storage. Users can modify these price books to include a discount.
Creating a Price Book
To create a Price Book, follow the relevant section based on your storage provider.
Creating a Custom S3 Price Book
To create a new Custom S3 Price Book, follow these steps:

Click Orchestration > Storage in the left-hand navigation panel.
The Storage page displays and defaults to the Storage tab. - Click Price Books at the top-right of the page.
The Storage page displays and lists existing price books. - Click Create PriceBook.
The Create a Price Book page displays. - Select Custom S3 from the Price Book Type drop-down.
- Enter details for the new Price Book:
- Name – Enter a name for the Price Book.
- Scope - Which scope the Price Book belongs.
- Egress Price – The cost per GB to transfer data of storage
- Storage Price – The cost per GB per month for storage
- Click Save.
The new custom Price Book is created and available for use when configuring new storage.
Creating a Local Price Book
To create a local Price Book, follow these steps:

Click Orchestration > Storage in the left-hand navigation pane.
The Storage page displays and defaults to the Storage tab. - Click Price Books at the top-right of the page.
The Storage page displays and lists existing price books. - Click Create PriceBook.
The Create a Price Book page displays. - Select Local from the Price Book Type drop-down.
- Enter details for the new Price Book:
- Name – Enter a name for the Price Book.
- Scope - Which scope the Price Book belongs.
- Egress Price – The cost per GB to transfer data of storage
- Storage Class Name – Custom name for local storage
- Storage Price – The cost per GB per month for storage
- Click Save.
The new local Price Book is created and available for use when configuring new storage.
